WRC Round13 Rally Italia Sardegna

TGR-WRT celebrates record-equalling title with Solberg win!

On Sunday, October 4, the final day, Day 4 of 2026 FIA World Rally Championship
(WRC) Round 13 Rally Italia Sardegna took place based in the historic city of Alghero
in northwestern Sardegna. The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team (TGR-WRT)
duo of Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin (GR Yaris Rally1, Car No. 33) – for whom Endless
serves as the  brake parts supplier – finished fifth overall, securing the first Drivers’
and Co-drivers’ championship titles of their careers.
The battle for the championship between Evans and Solberg played out right down
to the final Power Stage. Rally leader Solberg pushed hard right up to the final two corners
of the Power Stage, maintaining his lead, but went off the road just shy of the finish and
failed to secure any Power Stage points. Meanwhile, Evans and Martin who had fought to
hold the top spot through a maximum effort despite the disadvantageous starting position
that comes with leading the series, finally realized their dream of becoming champions.
The rally was won by Oliver Solberg and Elliott Edmondson (Car No. 99). Sébastien Ogier
and Vincent Landais (Car No. 1) finished second overall,  Sami Pajari and Marko Salminen
(Car No. 5) entered by TGR-WRT2 finished third overall, and Takamoto Katsuta and
Aaron Johnston (Car No. 18) completed the rally in sixth place overall.
Evans became the first driver from Wales to be crowned world champion, while Martin
became the first person from England to win the WRC co-drivers’ title.
This marks the seventh time in the past eight years that TGR-WRT crew has become
world champion.
The team had already secured the Manufacturers’ title at the previous round, Rally Chile
Biobío, and marked the fifth time in six years that they have won all three available titles.
With new vehicle regulations set to be introduced in the WRC starting next season 2027,
this marked the final battle and the final victory for the GR YARIS Rally1 after five seasons
of competition. ENDLESS will continue to develop brake components to compete alongside
the team in the WRC as it enters a new era.
